The holy grail of all land rovers this charming little find has been subject to a full strip down and rebuild then reassembled with the top half remaining in its wonderful original patinated condition .

Carefully done by a very skilled mechanic / enthusiast for use at shows and local running around .
The chassis was completely stripped down , repaired and repainted in the correct Land Rover green , new springs , swivels , brakes , complete engine rebuild . The bulkhead received the same treatment and as such is in great condition

First registered 23/11/1964 This series 2 was purchased new by Searle to be converted into one of their camper conversions .

This vehicle is completely original as sold by Searle in December 1964 to the first keeper Maurice Edward Kitton of Kent . Service paperwork , Land rover and Searle handbooks accompany this vehicle along with buff registration documents detailing ownership transfer to the second owner who purchased the vehicle in May 1965 for £1345 at the Olympia Motor show from Searle trading in his Sunbeam for £400

Carmichael was the first company to convert a Range Rover to a six-wheel conversion and they were mainly made for the commercial market of fire tenders and rescue vehicles for extra carrying capacity and space for rescue equipment. The 200 gallon glass fibre tank was shaped and mounted as low as possible in the chassis to obtain a low centre of gravity and facility for removal was provided. The semi-rectangular shape with internal baffle plates prevents surge whilst the vehicle is in motion. The Range Rover chassis with a standard driving position offers dual full sized forward hinged doors for easy access for crew and driver. The two-man cab and body forms part of the clean, unbroken styling in line with the water tank incorporated. The seats were standard Range Rover units in PVC covering
